28% of Israeli Arabs Deny the Holocaust: Ha'aretz

According to a report in Ha'aretz, 28% of Israeli Arabs deny the Holocaust.

The poll was conducted by Sami Smoocha, a sociologist at the University of Haifa. According to the poll 28 percent of Israeli Arabs did not believe the Holocaust happened. More disturbing was the fac that the result was 33% among high school and college graduates.

Smoocha believes -- and this makes sense to me -- many in the Arab world believe the Holocaust to be a political event by denying it they are expressing opposition to Israel.

In short, the poll is yet another piece of evidence that the Holocaust has become a political tool.
